In December 1531, a poor indigenous man named Juan Diego was walking near Tepeyac Hill, just outside Mexico City. As he passed, he saw a vision of a young woman surrounded by light, who identified herself as the Virgin Mary. She asked Juan Diego to go to the bishop and request the construction of a church on the site in her honor. Juan Diego, shared the vision with the bishop, but the request was met with doubt. The Virgin Mary then appeared to him again, urging him to return and insist on her request. To prove her divine message, she instructed Juan Diego to gather roses, which were out of season, from the top of the hill.
When Juan Diego presented the roses to the bishop, an image of the Virgin Mary was miraculously imprinted on his tilma (cloak), an event that convinced the bishop and the people of the authenticity of the vision. The church was built, and the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe quickly became a symbol of faith and unity, especially among the indigenous people of Mexico. The Virgin of Guadalupe is revered as a powerful protector, and her appearance is seen as a bridge between indigenous culture and Catholicism. Today, her image remains one of the most beloved and venerated in the Catholic world. Our Lady of Guadalupe's feast day is December 12th.

I love this so much. It is tiny and beautiful (I like it so much that I also purchased the larger one!). I love Our Lady of Guadalupe and the color is so unique. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5, is that the squares are so tiny that they kind of can move around a lot on fabric and not lay quite right. I’m used to the regular sized ones that you can put medals into. To fix this, I sewed tiny fishing weights inside. You can’t tell by looking at it, but makes it lay better and feels more substantial.
I’ve wanted to wear a scapular my whole life, but the wool was always itchy or the plastic stuck to my body.
The present scapular is so small and soft that I forget I have it on. It’s extremely comfortable and I know I’m under Our Blessed Mother’s mantle of protection!

Father Jim Boccabella invested me yesterday. The scapular is very comfortable to wear. I am allergic to wool. No problems just Grace with this one.,
I wasn't sure about a small scapular for an adult woman, but so far I'm loving it. I tied know about 2" from each end so that it just fits over my head. It's light weight and doesn't get caught on my clothes.
